Born in Newark, New Jersey, John Richter began
painting traditional realistic paintings, landscapes,
portraits and cityscapes over 50 years ago. His work
is inspired by many travels throughout the
Mediterranean, France, Greece, Turkey and Italy, and
and England as well and also by his numerous visits
to many of the most famous art galleries in
the world from Paris including The Louvre, Gare
d'Orsay, The Orangerie, Musee Marmottan, Centre
Pompidou, The Rodin, among others, and New York's
Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Guggenheim
Museum, The Whitney, and The Museum of Modern
Art (MOMA.) His work has been exhibited in
numerous juried shows in New York, New Jersey, and
Connecticut. John's paintings can be found mostly in
private collections in the United States, and France.
